Deal summary

Canaccord Genuity Group has agreed, through its UK and Crown Dependencies wealth management business, to acquire the front-office teams and client assets of EFG Harris Allday. The transaction covers approximately £3.1bn in client assets and will expand Canaccord Wealth’s presence across the Midlands, including through a new office in Shrewsbury.

Harris Allday generated £20.3m in revenue in 2025 and has 77 full-time equivalent employees. It operates principally from Birmingham, alongside locations in Shrewsbury and London. Financial terms have not been disclosed and completion is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to closing conditions.

About Canaccord Wealth

Canaccord Wealth is the UK and Crown Dependencies wealth management arm of Canaccord Genuity Group, providing investment management and financial planning services to private clients, intermediaries, charities and institutions. As of 31 March 2026, the business managed and administered £40.3bn of assets across the UK and Europe.

Canaccord has expanded its UK wealth management business through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, including financial planning firms in Cambridge and Glasgow and investment management businesses across the Crown Dependencies.

About EFG Harris Allday

Harris Allday is a wealth management business within EFG Private Bank, the UK subsidiary of EFG International. Founded in the West Midlands more than 175 years ago, it provides investment management services to individuals, families, trusts and charities, with a particular concentration of clients in the Midlands.

Harris Allday became part of EFG in 2006. EFG will retain its wider UK private banking and wealth management business following the transaction, focusing on high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

Why is Canaccord Wealth acquiring EFG Harris Allday?

The transaction gives Canaccord greater regional scale in an area where it already has an established presence, while adding Harris Allday’s client relationships and investment management expertise. Canaccord plans to combine these capabilities with its existing financial planning proposition, giving Harris Allday clients access to a broader integrated wealth management service. The strategy is consistent with its acquisitions of Cantab Asset Management and Intelligent Capital, both of which expanded Canaccord’s financial planning capacity in regional UK markets.

What happens next?

The transaction is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval. Harris Allday’s front-office professionals and client assets will transfer to Canaccord Wealth, with Canaccord adding Shrewsbury to its existing office network.
