Sell Your IFA Business and Continue Advising

SELL AND STAY DEALS

Are you tired of juggling the responsibilities of being a directly authorised firm with servicing your clients? A sell and stay model allows you to sell your business, get the support you need, and continue doing the work you love.

WHY SELL AND STAY

Make exiting your business easy

How it works

Unlike a partnership programme, a sell and stay deal involves selling 100% of your business to an acquirer. Following completion, you then become an employed adviser under the new company. This means that post-sale, you will be paid a salary as well as a bonus on any new business.

How long you stay on for is up to you and the acquirer. The majority of financial advisers will continue working for at least 2 years post-sale to see their clients through integration and the earn-out period.

Is sell and stay right for me?

"I've been self-employed for way too long, I can't see myself working for someone else."

Financial advisers considering their exit options are often concerned that they are "unemployable." So why do many still choose to sell and stay?

The answer is that the acquirers we work with do not expect you to be working 9-5, in the office five days a week. Your job is ultimately to continue servicing your clients with the same care and consideration you have all these years, the best way you know how.

"How would I integrate with a new business? What if we have completely different financial planning philosophies?"

This is where Chapters Capital come in. It is our job to ensure that the acquirers you meet are compatible with you and your approach to financial planning. Whether that means they are independent, whole of market, or they use the same platforms as you, or even down to their back office system.

Client continuity is the key to a successful transaction, and that begins with only being introduced to firms that are a great match for your business.

What our clients say

Read postcards from our past clients.

"Simon assisted us with sale of our financial advisory business. The business was valued at 8 figures. He was immensely patient - negotiations took several months as we owned several interlinked firms. He has a real eye for detail. Clarifying and answering hundreds of questions. Best of all he is a thoroughly decent and caring chap.

I would recommend Chapters Capital to any serious minded seller or buyer of IFA businesses."
