Perspective buys TaxAssist Finance Arm in JV deal

Deal summary
Perspective Financial Group has acquired TaxAssist Direct Financial Services Limited, the financial advice arm of TaxAssist Group, and simultaneously launched a joint venture with TaxAssist Group called TaxAssist Plus Financial Planning.
The new business gives TaxAssist clients access to financial planning and wealth management services through Perspective’s national network of more than 70 offices and around 280 advisers. Its services include retirement and pension planning, investment advice, wealth management, inheritance tax and estate planning, protection, mortgages and corporate financial planning.
TaxAssist Direct Financial Services was based at TaxAssist’s Norwich headquarters and launched its financial advice service in 2022. Before the transaction, the firm employed 15 advisers and operated as an appointed representative of 2plan Wealth Management.

TaxAssist Group was founded in Norwich in 1995 and is best known as the franchisor of TaxAssist Accountants. Its UK network operates from more than 400 locations and supports over 125,000 clients, primarily small businesses, company directors, self-employed people and individual taxpayers.
TaxAssist provides accountancy, tax, bookkeeping and payroll services through locally owned practices. The launch of TaxAssist Plus Financial Planning extends the range of specialist services available through that network.
What happens next?
TaxAssist Plus Financial Planning is already operational. Clients of TaxAssist's 400-plus offices across the UK will be able to access financial planning services, including retirement planning, investment advice, wealth management, inheritance tax and estate planning, protection and mortgages, through TaxAssist Plus Financial Planning. No further integration timeline has been disclosed.

Phoenix Wealth Solutions – June 2026
Perspective acquired the Johnstone-based independent financial planning firm in its first transaction in Scotland. Phoenix became Perspective (Scotland), retaining its existing team and office while providing a base for further expansion in the country.
Six financial advice firms – April 2026
Perspective acquired Grosvenor Wealth Management, Graham Investment Management, Professional Financial Centre, Sapphire Wealth Management, Belper Independent Financial Solutions and the client book of Phil Taylor at Throgmorton. Together, the transactions added approximately £550 million in assets under advice, ten financial planners and offices in Harpenden, Penrith and Belper.
Six financial advice firms – March 2026
Perspective completed the acquisitions of Freedom Advice, Clearwater Wealth Management, Cockburn Lucas Independent Financial Consulting, Crown Wealth Management, Devonshire Wealth Management and Mackrill Financial Management. The deals added £825 million in assets under management and 12 financial planners.
