Turning a succession challenge into an opportunity
We often speak to IFA, wealth management and financial planning firm owners who have a great team keen to stay on after a sale, but who can’t complete an internal succession or buyout. This can leave owners in a difficult position: they want clients and staff properly looked after, but can’t step back or realise value until the ownership question is resolved.

Designing a bespoke solution
We arrange succession deals for financial planning practices, usually via a sale to a carefully selected external buyer. This protects your clients and team, while allowing you to step back and realise value.
In many cases, it achieves a similar outcome to a management buyout (MBO), with more support around clients and staff.
Why Chapters Capital
We know when and how to bring the team into the conversation, and we’ve supported owners through those discussions many times. We also know how to present this as a genuine opportunity to the right buyer, rather than a problem to solve.
We differentiate ourselves in the attention and responsibility we take in helping you sell your financial planning firm. Learn more about some of the deals we've done and what our clients say about working with us.
“Simon and Daniel are highly professional and have a good understanding of the needs, interests, and anxieties of owners looking to retire. They also work carefully to ensure a good fit with the buyer, rather than just presenting the easiest option on offer.”

Our process
CONSULTATION
We begin by getting to know you, your goals, and your business. From there, we assess your situation and develop a unique plan to meet your specific needs.
MEETINGS
We facilitate and chair meetings with buyers, ensuring an agenda is set so all your questions are answered. We also take detailed minutes, so you can focus fully on the discussion.
MATCHING
We will present you with potential buyers. We will highlight why they are a fit, the valuation they would place on the business, and the practical points to consider for each deal.
DEAL MANAGEMENT
The many moving parts of a deal can make selling a stressful process. We will make sure you know what is happening and what is expected from each party throughout.
