My Pension Expert buys InterestMe client book after administration

28th September 2026
Deal summary
My Pension Expert has acquired the client book and associated assets of London-based InterestMe after InterestMe Financial Planning and its appointed representative, InterestMe Advisers, entered administration.
InterestMe provided financial planning and advice across pensions, retirement planning, investments, mortgages and wider financial planning. My Money Expert, a trading style of My Pension Expert, will now be responsible for the ongoing advice and servicing arrangements previously handled by InterestMe.
The acquisition covers the client book and associated assets rather than InterestMe Financial Planning or InterestMe Advisers themselves. Both companies remain in administration.
About My Pension Expert
Doncaster-headquartered My Pension Expert specialises in regulated advice for people approaching or in retirement. The business advises around 20,000 clients and approximately £2bn of client assets, based on figures disclosed earlier in 2026.
My Pension Expert has increasingly used M&A alongside organic growth. In 2025, the firm secured a £25m refinancing package from OakNorth which included funding for future acquisitions, while advisers Hines Associates have described the group's acquisition strategy as focusing partly on mass-market advice clients.
My Pension Expert also agreed a strategic investment from US-based Valeas Capital Partners in July, with existing backer Palatine Private Equity set to exit. That transaction remains listed as pending regulatory approval.
About InterestMe
InterestMe Financial Planning was a London-based independent financial advice firm authorised by the FCA since 2011. Its activities included advice on pensions, retirement planning, investments and pension transfers, while the wider InterestMe proposition also covered mortgages and broader financial planning.
InterestMe Financial Planning acted as principal to InterestMe Advisers. The firms operated from Lloyds Avenue in the City of London.
Before entering administration, InterestMe Financial Planning had agreed a voluntary requirement with the FCA restricting new regulated business, including accepting new clients and undertaking certain new activities for existing clients.
What happens next?
My Money Expert will take responsibility for providing ongoing financial advice and servicing to former InterestMe clients. Clients are also due to receive correspondence from the administrators and an information pack from My Pension Expert explaining the transition.
InterestMe did not directly hold client money or custody assets. The FCA has confirmed these are held by another regulated firm, while InterestMe's website states that clients' underlying investments remain with third-party providers.
InterestMe Financial Planning and InterestMe Advisers remain in administration. The Financial Services Compensation Scheme is investigating InterestMe Financial Planning and has opened its claims process for eligible customers.

Tenet&You – May 2024
