Praetura Ventures and Par Equity have announced a merger that will form PXN Group, a new investment platform with £670m in assets under management. The platform will have a shared focus on early-stage and high-growth companies throughout the UK’s regions.

The merger will bring together the investment arms of Praetura Ventures, Praetura Investments, and Edinburgh-based Par Equity, allowing them to manage a portfolio of over 115 companies with strong regional presences in the North of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

PXN Group aims to be a specialist platform for financial advisers by providing access to a diversified range of investments that qualify for the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), Venture Capital Trusts (VCT), and business relief. The goal is to help advisers offer clients tax-efficient, high-impact investment opportunities, particularly in sectors and regions that are often overlooked by mainstream capital flows.

Paul Munn, founder of Par Equity and now the executive chair of PXN, emphasised the importance of combining regional insights with improved distribution capabilities. Dave Foreman, founder of Praetura Ventures and now the CEO of PXN, described the merger as “the foundation of a platform designed to scale,” providing long-term capital and tailored support to advisers from a unified structure.

The group will continue operating under the existing regulatory entities and maintain offices in Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds, and London, ensuring continuity for advisers and clients. Additionally, there are plans to expand business relief offerings through the Praetura Inheritance Tax Planning Service and to grow the EIS Growth Fund and VCT investment products.

The transaction is pending approval from the Financial Conduct Authority. Still, it represents a significant consolidation in the UK’s tax-efficient investment market, which could transform how regional capital meets the needs of national advisers.
