Corbel Partners, a financial advice network, has announced the acquisition of seven advice firms in the first quarter of 2025, continuing its strategic expansion. Six of these acquisitions were made within its own adviser network through a dedicated internal buyout initiative designed to facilitate smooth succession planning and transition for retiring advisers.
Launched in 2023, Corbel Partners' buyout initiative has successfully integrated 13 businesses, reinforcing its goal to grow from its current network of 160 advisers to 250 advisers by the end of 2026. These recent acquisitions have increased the group’s assets under advice, which currently stand at £2.4bn.
David O’Hara, co-founder and director at Corbel Partners, emphasised the firm's commitment to maintaining independent, personalised advice. He stated, "Advisers trust us with their clients because we don’t consolidate and we don’t impose restrictions. We find the right home for clients’ hard-earned wealth, prioritising their unique goals and objectives."
Corbel’s model offers a comprehensive "cradle-to-grave" approach, providing adviser training and development, business growth opportunities, and structured pathways for exit or retirement, ensuring continuity and quality of client service throughout.
Looking ahead, Corbel Partners expects to complete at least five more acquisitions in 2025, with several additional internal and external agreements already in advanced discussions.
This momentum reflects a wider trend in the market, where networks are actively facilitating internal succession planning to retain client relationships and ensure service continuity. This trend is similar to the strategic approaches seen in recent articles covered by Chapters Capital, such as Clifton Wealth Partnership’s acquisitions emphasising cultural alignment and Newcastle Financial Advisers' targeted acquisitions to ensure seamless client transitions and maintain service quality.
Founded by chartered financial planners Paul Heath and David O’Hara in 2005, Corbel Partners continues reinforcing its market presence as a trusted, adviser-centric network.
